Hollywood Brown gives a worrying response about his future with Chiefs and Mahomes: Josh Allen on the prowl

Marquise Hollywood Brown faces an uncertain future with the Kansas City Chiefs as he heads into free agency after a season plagued with injuries and missed opportunities, but could he have hope with Josh Allen?

Initially brought in to be a deep-ball threat for Patrick Mahomes, Hollywood‘s 2024 season failed to deliver the blockbuster performance fans were hoping for even when the likes of Rashee Rice were taken off the table.

Shedeur Sanders’ NFL hat game keeps teams guessing

That’s because the ex-Arizona Cardinal himself suffered an early season injury leaving him with just one regular season start, as he missed all action from September 13-December 21, although he still made 91 yards in his two appearances.

The 27-year-old’s contract was a one-year “prove-it” deal worth $7 million that could have kickstarted his NFL career but he now stands at a crossroads with questions about his future in Kansas City.

But a lifeline could come in the form of the Buffalo Bills are reportedly eyeing the wide receiver as a potential addition to their offense, adding a deep threat to an already potent attack at the Highmark Stadium.

So with the Bills and Allen seeking to add a dynamic weapon to their aerial attack, the competition for Hollywood‘s services could intensify. It raises the question: will Hollywood stay in Kansas City to continue his partnership with Mahomes, or will he move on to join one of the Chiefs‘ biggest AFC rivals?

A Season Full of Unmet Expectations

Hollywood‘s 2024 campaign unfolded like a suspenseful series with an unsatisfying conclusion. Over the course of just two games, he recorded nine receptions for 91 yards, but a dislocated sternoclavicular joint-a serious shoulder injury-derailed his season.

This setback left fans in Kansas City waiting for a Hollywood-style comeback that never quite materialized, despite the Chiefs activating his 21-day return window in December thus offering hope.

But that’s largely out of his own control and Hollywood’s potential remains undeniable through his speed and ability to stretch defenses.

He’s still an attractive KC option alongside Rashee Rice, Xavier Worthy and DeAndre Hopkins; although he does now seem to be fourth pick.
