Football has seen its share of strange moments over the years, but very few compare to what happened in this match.

Just seconds after kickoff, one team found itself leading 1-0 without a single touch on the ball.

The sequence lasted less than 20 seconds

From the opening whistle, the opposing team attempted to build from the back, calmly moving the ball between defenders. But under light pressure, everything suddenly went wrong. A defender tried to pass the ball back to his goalkeeper, who had moved too far away from the goal.

The pass rolled past the goalkeeper, who was completely out of position, and slowly crossed the goal line into an empty net. No opponent touched the ball. No shot was taken. And yet, the goal counted.

It was officially recorded as an own goal.

The moment took place in a Brazilian second-division match between Sport Recife and Novorizontino, where the mistake came just 18-19 seconds into the game.

The defender involved, Alisson Cassiano, and the goalkeeper, Caique Frana, could only look at each other in disbelief as the ball rolled in. What should have been a routine play turned into one of the most bizarre goals in recent football memory.
