The musical performance is one of the most eagerly awaited each year, with as much attention as the game itself, where the chosen artists who liven up the event enjoy international repercussions, which is their main payment, because their fee is minimal.

It will be Kendrick Lamar’s second halftime show, after his participation in Super Bowl LVI alongside Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige and Eminem in 2022.

How much do singers earn in the Super Bowl Halftime Show?

According to information from CBS News, the singers have a union contract under which they have a guaranteed minimum salary for their performance at the Super Bowl. For example, in early 2024 it was revealed that Usher received around $1,000 per day for his performance at Super Bowl LVIII, a figure based on the most recent contract of the Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists.

This is how other stars such as Beyonc, Rihanna, Prince, Madonna, Michael Jackson and Paul McCartney can be said to have performed for free, although they have other benefits, as their show goes around the world and receives media impact that could cost millions in advertising and promotion.

Forbes magazine noted that Rihanna’s sales for her 2023 Super Bowl Halftime Show increased by 390 percent, a jump that the publication said was also experienced by Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige and Kendrick Lamar, who starred in the 2022 edition.
