Inter Miami shows off resiliency again with fifth straight come-from-behind win

Inter Miami goes down by a goal early in the game. Inter Miami comes back to tie it. Inter Miami comes back to win the game.

That appears to be the recipe for Lionel Messi and co., as his squad pulled it off again, this time in Canada. It was the first game of Messi’s career in the North American country. And it was one filled with thrills and action.

Montreal put Miami on alert early on in the game, striking first through former Inter player Bryce Duke in the 22nd minute. Just 10 minutes later, the Canadian club doubled their lead on a Jules-Anthony Vilsaint tally.

Near the end of the first half, Miami was in trouble and hearts dropped when Messi had to be treated by the medical team for what looked to be a knee injury.

While Messi waited for the referee to allow him to re-enter the pitch, Matias Rojas scored one of the best free-kicks we will see all year.

Only a couple of minutes later, Luis Suarez leveled the game at 2-2 with a point-blank finish following a corner kick.

Miami’s comeback was completed by Benjamin Cremaschi in the 59th minute, when he took advantage of a Rojas long ball and poked his finish past the goalkeeper.

Miami remains the top team in the Eastern Conference with 27 points, having only lost two of 13 games to this point in the season.
