Move over, Travis Kelce, now it’s Lamar Jackson’s turn. In an unexpected move, the Baltimore Ravens quarterback announced he’ll try his luck in Hollywood with an appearance on one of Starz’s best-reviewed and highest-rated series.
From Bubba Smith to Dwayne Johnson, not to mention Terry Crews and even Dan Marino himself, Hollywood exerts an irresistible attraction toward NFL players. The most recent example is Kelce, who is making his way in film and TV while continuing to catch passes for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Jackson, for his part, had never shown any inclination toward acting. That’s why his acting debut in the series “Power Book III: Raising Kanan,” with a character named E-Tone, took fans and media alike by surprise.
Lamar’s acting debut
Just hours before the third episode of the fourth season of “Raising Kanan” airs, Jackson took to social media to share a snippet of an interview with People about his small-screen debut, saying, “I’m so excited for fans to see me in this new role and thrilled to be a part of ‘Power Book III: Raising Kanan.'”
In an Instagram post, the Ravens’ signal-caller stated that E-Tone, his character, is “deadly and dangerous,” and warned, “You don’t want to get on his bad side.” The player accompanied the post with a still from the episode, attracting immediate reactions from his followers, who have left more than 200,000 likes so far.
What is Raising Kanan about?
For those who haven’t seen it yet, “Power Book III: Raising of Kanan” is a crime drama that airs on the Starz network. It’s a spin-off and prequel to the series “Power” starring Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson.
Power Book III is set in the 1990s and follows the rise of Kanan Stark-initially played by 50 Cent-into the dangerous world of drugs, helping his mother grow her drug business. The series is in its fourth season and has been a hit with critics and viewers.
