The Miami Dolphins have reportedly reached an agreement with superstar wide receiver Jaylen Waddle over a contract extension.
Waddle is said to have agreed to a new $84.75 million contract extension that will net him a guaranteed $76 million, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

The deal will cover Waddle for five seasons, with the deal running through the 2028 season. Waddle will also become one of the top-five paid receivers in the NFL, with only teammate Tyreek Hill, Amon-Ra St. Brown of the Detroit Lions and A.J. Brown of the Philadelphia Eagles pocketing more. Though, Justin Jefferson could leap all of those players when he gets a new deal.
Waddle, who is set to pocket $28.25 million per year under his new deal, was drafted in 2021, and he has been a key cog in the Dolphins’ offense since. The superstar receiver has racked up more than 1,000 receiving yards in each of his three seasons in the NFL so far.
And the good news for the Dolphins is that they have their number one and number two receivers locked down long-term, with both Waddle and Hill under lengthy deals.
Dolphins still stalling over Tua
While Waddle has landed a new deal, his teammate and quarterback Tua Tagovailoa continues to discuss terms over a new deal. As things stand, Tua will be playing under his fifth-year option this season, earning way below many of his peers at a similar level.
The Dolphins are seemingly playing hardball with Tua, given his injury history and struggles to prove himself against the better teams in the NFL. Then again, the former Alabama quarterback led multiple passing categories last season and will feel he deserves to be paid more than Jared Goff, who recently got a new contract with the Lions.
