Sixteen years after the Boston Celtics last won an NBA title, the team has once again raised the championship trophy to proclaim themselves the winningest franchise in the history of the league.
“We responded all year, and this is no different, our crowd was great, it’s been a long journey,” said Jayson Tatum right after the game where the Celtics clinched the title ended. “We have a resilient group, we’ve been through a lot as a team in 7 years, what they gonna say now?”

Boston fans have a man they can rely on, even after falling short last season and now it has pay dividends with a championship, something that even the own Jayson Tatum could not let sink in quickly.
“We did it! We did it!,” he repeated constantly after winning Game 5, as Tatum is the first Celtic ever with 30+ points and 10+ assists in an NBA Finals game. He also talked about how much happy he is for Al Horford, a 38 NBA player that has been on a long journey looking to call himself a champions and thanks to Tatum and company. “He don’t have much time, he’s my favorite teammate of all time.”
But another teammate of importance is Jaylen Brown, a clutch player like him that together they made history, as the duo with more games before winning a championship with 107, probably a stat that the wanted to erase and now the are both holders of a trophy, with Brown being named Finals MVP as well.
