Jimmy Butler outraged as he finds reason Stephen Curry had his worst performance of the season

Jimmy Butler was left incensed when he found out why the Golden State WarriorsSteph Curry put up his worst numbers of the season in a 106-96 defeat to the Houston Rockets, as he turned his grievances to the NBA officials.

Curry could only post three points, two rebounds and eight assists against the Rockets on April 7, the worst performance of the campaign for the point guard and his least productive night since taking on the Memphis Grizzlies on December 20.

And whilst the 37-year-old wasn’t at his usual best at the Chase Center on Sunday, Butler also believes the NBA officials didn’t do a good enough job of protecting the four-time champion and two-time MVP.

“I’ve never seen an individual get fouled more than he gets fouled,” Butler said after the game. “To me, I think that’s astounding.

“But it’s crazy to say that he’s used to it. It’s been happening to him his whole career, and he’s found a way through it, around it, under it, whatever you want to call it.

“It’s been happening for 16 straight years and I get to see it, and it really angers me that he’s on my team and he gets hacked like that.”

Who do the Warriors play next?

Although it was a poor night at the office for the Warriors and their star guard, famed for his long-range shooting, Curry continues to excel in the 2024/25 NBA season and has averaged 24.8 points (11th overall), six assists (18th) and 4.4 rebounds (105th) across the board.

He has also been highly effective with his free throws (93%) and his three-point efforts (40%) and is a big part of why the Warriors find themselves sixth in the Western Conference with four games to go before the NBA Playoffs.

Golden State will next be in action against the Phoenix Suns on April 8, before taking on the San Antonio Spurs, Portland Trail Blazers and Los Angeles Clippers to close out the regular season.
