Barkley slams Lakers and Redick’s coaching
Barkley’s criticism stemmed from comments Redick made last month about the negativity in NBA broadcasts. Redick argued that constant criticism of the league’s quality discourages casual fans from tuning in. Barkley, however, fired back with harsh words about Redick’s coaching philosophy, the Lakers‘ struggles, and even the organization’s recent history.
“[Redick] said we’re the reason people aren’t watching. No, it’s this crappy product on the court,” Barkley exclaimed. “JJ, you come for the king, you better not miss. The Lakers stink, and you can’t hide those flaws.”
Barkley also mocked Redick’s lack of professional coaching experience, pointing out that his only prior experience was coaching his son’s elementary school basketball team.
Lakers show promise despite criticism
Under Redick’s leadership, the Lakers have shown flashes of potential, winning six of their last eight games and holding a 19-14 record. However, many still view the team as underperforming given their star-studded roster.
