Jordan Love reaches a 4-year contract extension agreement with the Green Bay Packers

Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love was attempting to sign a new contract extension with the team in order to continue playing at the highest level. He is the one who took Aaron Rodgers’ place after the veteran left to play for the New York Jets. As the deal was being finalized, there were reports from The Athletic’s Dianna Russini who reported that Love’s contract extension would be done before the one Tua Tagovailoa was also negotiating with the Miami Dolphins. We are currently living in an era where NFL stars are trying to secure their family’s future for many generations and these deals will only get crazier as time goes by. Love is only the latest from a long line of players who will follow suit in this day and age.

How much is Jordan Love getting paid?

According to ESPN’s Adam Scheffer, the quarterback finally reached an agreement for four years with a guaranteed $220 million for the entire deal. This essentially makes Jordan Love the highest-paid player in the sport, even above the recent contract that Joe Burrow signed with the Cincinnati Bengals. But as we said before, that will only last as long as the next quarterback seals his deal. Up next on the line are Dallas Cowboys’ quarterback Dak Prescott and Kansas City Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes is on the list as well. For either this year or the next one.

For now, let Jordan Love enjoy being the highest-paid player in NFL history. Anybody can see where this is heading, with potentially Patrick Mahomes getting the highest-paid contract by the time the Kansas City Chiefs decide to extend it. Make no mistake, Patrick Mahomes is considered the best quarterback in the NFL right now. There is no reason for him to make a deal now before every other qurterback from the league. He should negotiate once all the rest have their contracts extended, that will give him a better idea of how much he can demand from the Chiefs. And Kansas won’t say no to the man who seems detined to surpass Tom Brady as the GOAT.
