Julius Randle‘s fallout with the New York Knicks continues to rage on despite the 2024/25 NBA season appearing on the horizon as the basketballer found himself seemingly snubbed in the organization’s store at Madison Square Garden.
Randle is eligible for a four-year $181.5m contract extension with the Knicks but they seem to be holding off based on a recent shoulder injury that isn’t healing as it should have been expected to.
So there is tension between the front office and the power forward, especially since they acquired Jalen Brunson too meaning they are sitting comfortable on depth and now the store incident, where his jersey did not appear in a selection of five, might have pushed that over the line.
A post by BigKnickEnergy on X.com, formerly Twitter, showed an Instagram photo from @michaelcuasito with the caption, “There are currently no Julius Randle jerseys for sale in Madison Square Garden.”
Later that day, Randle appeared to cryptically hit back by posting to his Instagram Stories, “The truth shall come to light.”
It appears tensions are rising in the Knicks camp and there appears to be no end in sight, with both parties feeling they are right to be demanding what they’re demanding as the Knicks prepare for a future without Randles.
X.com user’s Randle mistake
However, there was later a big twist to the story when the same @BigKnickEnergy admitted that there actually were Randle jerseys in the store but that they had simply not done their research enough.
“Hey everyone, my apologies for the confusion last night,” @BigKnickEnergy posted to X.com. “I jumped the gun and shouldn’t have posted that image.
“It was a mistake, and I apologize for any frustration or misinformation caused. There are indeed Randle jerseys available. Let’s keep the focus on the positive and support our team.”
