This could get ugly for the Los Angeles Clippers. Former team trainer Randy Shelton said that Kawhi Leonard faced “unsafe and illegal treatment for injuries” and the team has denied this statement.
It was reported Thursday that Shelton filed a lawsuit against the Clippers for wrongful termination and he stated the previous in it. He alleged that the team fired him after he issued a complaint that Leonard “was being subjected to unsafe and illegal treatment for injuries.”
This has been a topic of conversation and many fans have been worried about their star player’s health. However, the fact that he has been dealing with a injury since last season and that he is not ready to play, has everyone concerned about the fidelity of this report.
The Clippers have responded
Even after these allegations have had everyone talking and thinking about is they are true, considering Kawhi Leonard’s problems to staying healthy, the team was very firm in responding to this matter.
“Mr. Shelton’s claims were investigated and found to be without merit. We honored Mr. Shelton’s employment contract and paid him in full. This lawsuit is a belated attempt to shake down the Clippers based on accusations that Mr. Shelton should know are false,” the team said in a statement.
Leonard sat out the 2021-2022 season but ended having additional knee problems and to ruptured ligaments in his right ankle during the 2022-2023 season and then suffered a torn meniscus in the playoffs and towards the end of last season more injuries were affecting him preventing him from starting the current NBA scheduled on the court.
