It’s easy to imagine how Kevin Durant got here. The awkward NBA star was ready to get his mind off a disappointing season and trade rumors with the Phoenix Suns, and so he headed out to the club. Someone probably said told him, “shoot your shot,” but they didn’t mean it like this.
Durant scares women away at the club
Durant wielded his historically great jump shot as a dance move and a flirting tactic at a night club, and unfortunately for him, the women around did not seemed interested in his basketball skills. A video of the scene went viral on social media, showing people clear out around the lanky forward.
“telling the girls he played with Steph Curry,” a fan clowned on X, formerly Twitter.
“In the club flexing your shooting motions as a dance move is crazy,” said another.
Awkward on social media and in real life
“This how twitter trolls be around girls,” mocked another response. The former OKC Thunder star has been exposed in the past for making posts from burner social media accounts.
Over the weekend, he was also rumored to have a Tinder profile, but he shut down the allegations from his personal X account.
Suns rumored to be trading Durant
To remain competitive, the Suns need to inject youth into their roster, building around volume scorers like Bradley Beal, Devin Booker, and KD. However, their financial constraints and lack of tradeable assets make this a challenging task.
With $150 million owed to Beal, Booker, and Durant next year, and without the flexibility to use mid-level exceptions or trade for All-Star players, the Suns face a harsh reality: trading KD might be their only viable option to reshape the team.
Stephen A. Smith recently highlighted the tension on ESPN’s First Take and claimed Durant went over a month without talking to his head coach.
Durant seems to be living his best life in the mean time, even if it has some pretty embarrassing results. He may want to consider taking liquor shots at the club instead of jump shots, but his possible NBA suitors like the Golden State Warriors will be happy that at least basketball is always on his mind.
