Kid Cudi has joined the cast of Happy Gilmore 2, according to an exclusive report from Deadline. The sequel to the 1996 classic comedy follows the story of a former hockey player who tries to save his grandmother’s home from foreclosure by playing golf.
While details of Cudi’s character are still under wraps, he’ll be joining original stars Adam Sandler and Christopher McDonald, reprising their roles as Happy Gilmore and Shooter McGavin. Julie Bowen is also returning as Virginia Venit.
The main cast will feature Nick Swardson, Benny Safdie, Bad Bunny, Margaret Qualley, and Maxwell Jacob Friedman. Additionally, Travis Kelce and John Daly will make cameo appearances.
Cudi said of his new role:
“Ive been wanting to talk about this for a minute!!! This is so f***** HUGE. Its been a long time dream of mine to work w Adam, hes my favorite, and his movies and comedy made up my childhood. Another dream come true. BLESSED!! Get ready, this ones gonna be EPIC.”
