The Swedish Prosecution Authority has announced that it is dropping its investigation into the alleged rape that took place in Stockholm this past October where Kylian Mbappe was listed as a possible suspect.
I consider that the evidence is not sufficient to continue the procedure and therefore the investigation is closed

Prosecutor’s Office concludes investigation
“During the investigation, one person was identified with reasonable suspicion of rape and two cases of sexual harassment, but I consider that the evidence is not sufficient to continue the proceedings and therefore the investigation is closed. The person appointed has not been suspected of having committed a crime,” the prosecutor’s office said in a statement.
The investigation in which French footballer Kylian Mbappe was named for an alleged rape and two cases of sexual harassment in a hotel in central Stockholm on October 10 is closed. The prosecutor who has handled the case, Marina Chirakova, wanted to shed some light on how the investigation has been carried out. “It is customary in investigations of sexual violence to also carry out technical investigations, and that is what we have done in this case,” she said, ruling out any hypothesis. Although she could not give many more details because, she recalls, “the preliminary investigation is still protected by confidentiality.”
If justice calls me, I will go with total naturalness
Kylian Mbapp before the case was closed
It should be remembered that the striker had always denied his involvement in the alleged crime through the lawyer who has led his defense and in an interview on Sunday in the program Clique of Canal+ France. “If the justice system calls me, I will go quite naturally. I keep talking all the time with the girl with whom I spent the night,” said the Real Madrid player. It should be remembered that since the proceedings began, at no time had Mbappe been named as a defendant in the case.
A night out in Stockholm
It all stems from Thursday, October 10, when, taking advantage of his non-call-up with France due to some discomfort, Mbappe traveled to Stockholm. The player, who had been given permission to have five days off, was seen at the V nightclub in Stureplan before his return to Madrid, according to Swedish media. It was not until Saturday that a police report arrived about an alleged rape that had taken place at the hotel. And by Monday, police and technicians were at the hotel looking to clarify what happened. Something that has ended up happening two months later.
