Kylie Kelce reveals the lie Jason Kelce told his daughters to keep his family from growing even larger

Jason Kelce has made it abundantly clear-there will be no cats in the Kelce household. While his wife, Kylie Kelce, has expressed interest in adopting one, Jason has been on a mission to ensure that never happens. But instead of just saying no, the former NFL star has taken a rather creative-and comical-approach to convincing his family that a cat simply isn’t an option.

During a recent episode of Not Gonna Lie, Kylie shared just how far her husband is willing to go to keep their home cat-free. The couple’s eldest daughter, Wyatt, had excitedly mentioned getting a cat, thinking it was a done deal.

Jason Kelce’s outlandish excuse to avoid a cat

Kylie revealed that in his desperation to shut down the idea of getting a cat, Kelce resorted to outright misinformation.

“Our oldest daughter just the other day told dad we’re going to buy a cat. He was like, ‘Kylie, did you tell her we’re going to buy a cat today?’ I was like, ‘I swear I did not.’ But my husband has told our daughters that cats are poisonous. He is desperate to not have a cat,” she said.

A surprising history with cats

Despite his elaborate anti-cat campaign, Jason actually grew up with a beloved feline named Flash. Unlike a typical house cat, Flash was an extraordinary hunter, capable of catching birds mid-air.

Jason had immense admiration for his childhood pet, but it seems his fondness for Flash hasn’t extended to a general love for all cats.

Actress Kat Dennings weighed in on the situation, offering an interesting suggestion. She noted that most people are drawn to kittens, but Jason might actually respond better to meeting an older, more lively cat.

“Everyone wants a kitten,” she claimed. “However, they are only kittens for a very short time and then they are cats. You might be better off with your husband and take him in to maybe meet a cat who’s a little older, who’s already really feisty. He might toss a couple of things, watch that cat fly for it and he’ll fall in love.”
