Lakers and Nuggets fans exchange punches and kicks in Denver as chaos ensues after a close game

Denver Nuggets beat the Los Angeles Lakers 131-126 Friday night in a game that went down to the wire; the California team played without LeBron James or Luka Doncic.

A late shot from veteran guard Jamal Murray gave the Nuggets a three-point advantage, and then former All-Star Russell Westbrook secured the win with a steal and dunk.

What a mess! Lakers and Nuggets fans get involved in a brawl after a very tight NBA game

The Nuggets are now 2-1 this season against the Lakers and hold sole possession of the Western Conference No. 2 seed, just behind the Oklahoma City Thunder and above young teams like the Houston Rockets, the Memphis Grizzlies and the squad lead by LeBron James.

Fans from both teams get into a brawl

After the very intense game, chaos ensued in the Ball Arena, home of the Denver Nuggets. A video posted online shows a group of people throwing punches and kicks as they get into a massive fight. Some of the women involved are screaming while the man are going at it.

Social media users who shared the video asked themselves where were the security personnel of the venue to stop the fight and take the agressor to the authorities, as the scene could have gotten really ugly if one of the participants catched a punch that would have caused serious damage.

“They start fights every game. I’ve seen it happen three separate times. Biggest punk b**** fan base in the world. Haven’t seen it from any other fan base.” a user said. “Most Lakers fans are obnoxious dorks so it wouldn’t surprise me if they started it. Never seen anything close to a fight at a Nuggets game.” someone else responded.

The Nuggets got the win but not without drama

All-Star center and MVP candidate Nikola Jokic led the Denver Nuggets with 28 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 block, and 3 steals. Guard Jamal Murray finished with 26 points on 9-of-16 shooting, 5 assists, 4 rebounds, and 1 block. 18 of his points occurred in the second half.

Guard Christian Braun had a super-efficient outing with 22 points on 9-of-10 shooting, 6 assists, 5 rebounds, and 1 steal. Los Angeles was without their stars, LeBron James and Luka Doncic, but Austin Reaves filled in with a near-triple-double of 37 points, 13 assists, and 8 rebounds.

“This isn’t a beauty pageant; we don’t get rated on our win, it’s just a win. Obviously, a lot of things we can be better at… Another game in the first quarter where we came in the game, showed up, and kind of tried to ease our way into it. And they jumped all over us. That’s a recipe for disaster, we can’t do that. We have to approach the game with urgency.” Nuggets head coach Michael Malone said after the game.
