Lakers’ defensive struggles as once again the large deficit margin is a concern

It has been something to think about as of late the way the Los Angeles Lakers fall in games by double digits and this time, it was a remarkable performance what the put them down against the Phoenix Suns.

It was Devin Booker, Kevin Durant and Bradly Beal who took over for the home team as LeBron James and company suffered, but the main situation during the victory for Phoenix was that double-double and the double-digit performances by their leaders.

LeBron James’ ritual captured from a never-before-seen angle

Booker once again had 26 points and 10 assists as Durant added 23 points just like Beal with six and three rebounds respectively. This is an area of concern for the Lakers in another loss.

Los Angeles has problems

The Lakers have not looked good in their losses, as the majority of them had not been even close. Yes they have a winning record but the team has been drooping games in a way that created concern as they seem to just not give it all towards the end.

LeBron’s has -11.9 points per 100 possessions. With LeBron on the court, the Lakers have a net rating of -3. In his absence, the team improves noticeably to +8.9. The difference between both contexts shows this worrying negative balance.

Now, they look better on intensity when he is around but for some reason the numbers just don’t add up and the defensive side of things do not improve as once again the lost big after that 127-100 loss in Phoenix; things must be corrected.
