Lakers rookie cries in a press conference and reveals why he got so emotional when he met Steph Curry

Steph Curry is a trascendental talent on and off the court and the inspiration of many young people who admire him and embrace him as a once in a lifetime basketball player.

The Golden State Warriors guard has earned praise from NBA legends and continues to be an inspiration for newcomers to the league, and the latest example is the Los Angeles Lakers rookie Quincy Olivari.

During a press conference after the preseason game between the Warriors and the Lakers, which Golden State won 132-74, Olivari was asked about meeting his idol and the former Xavier Musketeers didn’t hold back.

“I liked him since I was in 6th grade… that’s my favorite player ever… the first thing he told me was ‘I’m a big fan of your game’… I had his jersey, he signed it twice. I used to sleep under that jersey.”, said Olivari.

The Atlanta native showed Curry a video where the Warriors guard signs one of his jerseys and then walked out of the arena with a pair of Steph’s autographed shoes.

Olivari had a good game in a losing effort against Golden State. He led the Lakers in scoring with 22 points, had 7 rebounds and 2 assists on 39 minutes.

Curry didn’t played but got to interact with players from the Lakers, including Olivari and NBA superstar LeBron James, his teammate on the USA Basketball team that won the gold medal at Paris 2024.

After the Warriors-Lakers game, Curry and James got to talk for a few seconds and shared a big hug on the court.

The Warriors and the Lakers would meet for the first time during the regular season on Christmas Day, in what promises to be an exciting match.
