Lamar Odom wasted little time in getting his name back out in public in Las Vegas, appearing at a city lounge just one week after the former NBA star was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI).
The sighting has fueled renewed concern among fans and observers. who have closely followed the former Los Angeles Lakers star’s long and often turbulent personal history.
Odom, 46, was seen Saturday night at C3 Lounge, located just off the city’s iconic Strip, where he appeared relaxed while promoting and endorsing his new beverage brand, “Odom 7.”
The appearance came only days after the two-time NBA champion publicly denied being under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of his January 17 arrest in Las Vegas.
The former forward, who was once married to Khloe Kardashian, was detained by police after allegedly driving more than 100 mph.
Authorities initially stopped Odom after a black SUV sped past patrol officers and changed lanes without signaling in the early hours of the morning.
Why was Lamar Odom arrested?
According to TMZ, officers at the scene observed that the 46-year-old had bloodshot eyes and that his vehicle carried an “overwhelming odor of Marijuana.”
The outlet also reported that Odom allegedly admitted to smoking Marijuana earlier that day, several hours before being stopped for allegedly driving at 106 miles per hour.
Police reportedly questioned Odom at the scene, where he initially suggested that his passenger had been smoking.
He later acknowledged, per TMZ, that he had smoked Marijuana around 16:00 and made a striking comment about his driving behavior, admitting he was “driving like he was in Back To The Future.”
According to the report, Odom struggled with multiple sobriety tests, including failing to touch the tip of his nose in six attempts.
Officers also asked whether he had suffered a traumatic brain injury. Odom reportedly laughed before claiming he had suffered “12 strokes and six heart attacks and that he was poisoned at a brothel in Pahrump.”
The incident resulted in three charges for Odom: driving under the influence, driving more than 41 miles per hour over the speed limit, and improper lane change or failure to maintain lane.
In the days following the arrest, Odom pushed back on the allegations. Speaking with TMZ on Tuesday, he insisted he had not consumed alcohol or taken narcotics before being pulled over, though he declined to specify what substances, if any, were in his system at the time.
Odom issues statement
Despite the seriousness of the allegations, Odom struck a reflective tone in a statement released Tuesday, emphasizing accountability and personal growth.
He said: “[I] remain committed to my continued growth. I’ve worked hard to rebuild my life, and taking responsibility is an essential part of that process.
“I am cooperating fully, staying honest, and focused on moving forward with integrity. Thank you to those who continue to support me.”
For many, the optics of Odom appearing in a Las Vegas bar so soon after the arrest have overshadowed that message.
Given his well-documented past struggles, the moment has once again placed his actions under an unforgiving spotlight – and left fans hoping that this latest episode truly becomes a turning point rather than another setback.
