Diddy‘s legal situation has been a true whirlwind from the get-go. Once considered just an afterthought, accusations and evidence began mounting over months, eventually leading to raids at his properties and an inevitable arrest for the music mogul. With Diddy’s downfall has come backlash against his former friends, many of which attended his infamous parties, where crimes were frequently committed.
Anyone who has been associated with Diddy in the past is under a microscope at the moment. Given Sean Combs‘ deep ties, there are a lot of celebrities and athletes who are dealing with it. LeBron James is certainly one of those people, and he’s now getting severe criticism from an unlikely source.
Colby Covington lights into LeBron James for Diddy involvement
UFC fighter Colby Covington is getting prepared to fight Joaquin Buckley over the weekend. This week, he began his press conference by not even talking about his upcoming fight. Instead, he used his time as “the man of the hour, the man of the show” to light into James for his previous involvement with Diddy.
I wanna ask LeBron, what does he mean by “there’s no party like a Diddy party?” I truly want to know. And LeBron, how many Diddy parties have you actually been to? Is that the reason you left social media, because of all the backlash you were getting for going to so many Diddy parties? It’s just pathetic, man. People think this guy’s a role model… LeBron, you’re a f***ing scumbag and I hope you get locked up in the same cell with Diddy.
Covington also mentioned James wanting to “defund the police” in the past, calling cops “the most patriot(ic) people in America, serving and protecting our country“.
It’s a little bit unclear why Covington is so outspoken about James, and why he felt the need to start his press conference about an athlete that has nothing to do with his sport. But it may have something to do with the most recent U.S. Presidential Election.
James voiced his support for Kamala Harris, while Covington has been a staunch supporter of Donald Trump for several years. That may be the underlying theme.
