LeBron James’ heartfelt message to Bronny after G League setback: ‘You are a young king’

Bronny James’ path in the NBA hasn’t been easy. In the latest episode of his personal saga, the young guard was sent back to the G League, despite four solid performances with the Los Angeles Lakers. Amid the momentary setback, his father, LeBron James, gave him some encouraging words.

Bronny joined the NBA this season as a second-round draft pick by the Lakers. After a controversial debut, the team decided to assign him to their affiliate in the development league, South Bay. Since then, young James’ career has been an up-and-down journey between the NBA and the G League, which doesn’t seem to be ending anytime soon.

In his most recent stint with the Lakers, Bronny logged 35 minutes in four games, almost half of the total time he has spent in the NBA. His numbers remain modest, but the experience has proven invaluable, as evidenced by his next performance in the G League, which earned him praise from “King” James.

LeBron always knows what to say to cheer Bronny up.

LeBron’s message to his son

On Friday, in his return to the South Bay Lakers, Bronny contributed 28 points, six rebounds, and a spectacular poster dunk. His performance was vital in his team’s 122-104 victory over the Valley Suns, and LeBron couldn’t be more proud.

“Keep building & stacking days,” LeBron wrote in one of his Instagram stories. The “King” accompanied the post with a “young king” emoji and an image of Bronny after the game against Valley.

LeBron’s support for his heir is unwavering. Last month, the Lakers star described Bronny’s ironclad routine, saying, “He goes to work, he goes home, he takes care of his body, he plays his video games, he reads a little bit, and then he comes back and does the same thing.”

The Lakers’ streak

After a shaky start to the season, the Lakers found a winning streak with four straight wins and 10 wins in their last 12 games. This took them up to fifth place in the Western Conference, and although we are still halfway through the regular season, this seems to bode well for the team.

After the temporary return to the development league, media and fans hope to see Bronny again with the senior team in their game against the Indiana Pacers.
