LeBron James said that Brooklyn Nets head coach Jordi Fernandez “has a tremendous work ethic, knows the game very well and deserves the opportunity to be an NBA head coach”.
“I didn’t know if it would be college or professional, but I knew he would be a head coach somewhere and he has come to be a head coach here (in the NBA) and obviously it’s very well deserved,” LeBron James said of Jordi Fernandez, in remarks to reporters after the Lakers’ 109-125 victory in Brooklyn.

LeBron James on Jordi Fernandez: “When Mike Brown brought him in, he was a sponge”
LeBron and Jordi Fernandez coincided in Cleveland in the 2009-2010 season, when the spanish coach was starting his career as a player development coach, and James was finishing his first stint with the Cavaliers before leaving for Miami.

“When Mike Brown brought him in, he was just a sponge. You could tell he had a tremendous work ethic and you could tell he knew the game,” said the superstar of the Badalona coach, who has been the Nets’ coach since last season.
LeBron James: “There’s always been love and respect towards the Brooklyn fans”
LeBron led the Lakers to victory in Brooklyn with 25 points and, in the fourth quarter, watched from the bench as his son, Bronny James, also in purple and gold, scored two points and received a rousing ovation from the Barclays Center
“To have my wife sitting courtside and to be able to have that moment for our son was great. There’s always been love and respect for the Brooklyn fans every time I come here, and for them to show that to my son and his development and the way he continues to develop his game was a proud moment that we’ll never forget. That was really cool,” James said.
LeBron James: “My legacy is my children, my community and my family”
In this regard, the Lakers’ ’23’ described what legacy he will leave when he retires from basketball: “My legacy is my kids, my community and my family. That’s all that matters to me. Basketball has given me so many opportunities to inspire youth over the last 23 years, but, for me, my legacy is going to be passed on through my kids, through my community and the things that I do to continue to inspire that way,” he said.
LeBron, with an uncertain future, did not want to comment on the possibility of leaving the Lakers or retiring at the end of the season: “We are all professionals and we have a job to do regardless of what is going on, regardless of what the outside noise says,” James concluded

“We are going to play against a team that is in good form,” Van Leeuwen told the press.
“Barcelona have a lot of quality and we have to be prepared for that. We have to be ready to play against a team that is very strong in attack and defence.
