LeBron James’ trade rumors end with a firm “no” from agent Rich Paul

The 2025 NBA season hadn’t even started, and all anyone talked about was LeBron James’ retirement, fueled by the massive buzz he generated with a “second decision” teaser.

Afterward, the 40-year-old LeBron missed the first month of the season due to injury. Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves stepped up and took control of the team.

This season, Luka is averaging 35 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 9.1 assists per game, while Reaves has been putting up 28.4 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 6.7 assists.

With all this – and many now calling it “Luka’s team,” not LeBron’s – wild LeBron James trade rumors have started to spread.

No trade incoming for LeBron

If LeBron won’t shut down the rumors himself, the next-best person to ask is his agent and longtime friend, Rich Paul. That’s exactly what journalist Max Kellerman did on the Game Over podcast.

Paul didn’t hesitate to shut down the LeBron trade rumors and gave Kellerman a clear response: “No.”

However, he did not rule out the possibility of the veteran ending up on another team after his contract with the Lakers expires at the end of the season.

“Where’s he gonna go? Does LeBron make the Knicks better? Yes, he would, of course, but 29 other teams would say the same thing,” Paul added.
