While LeBron James is focused on locking down a playoff spot with the Lakers, his wife, Savannah James, has been busy delivering something just as meaningful back home in Akron, Ohio.
This past weekend, Savannah shared a heartfelt thank-you message on Instagram after hosting a prom preparation event for senior girls at the I Promise School-a project supported by the LeBron James Family Foundation. The message, simple but warm, read: “Thank you guys for your support!!” It was posted alongside images of smiling students trying on gowns and celebrating together.

Turns out, those gowns were more than just fabric and tulle. Through a program called Savannah’s Prom Promise, Savannah provided dresses for every senior girl, ensuring no one felt left out on one of the most memorable nights of high school. With help from Lindes Bridal Shop, each student was fitted with a dress tailored to their unique style and personality.

The LeBron James Family Foundation posted a powerful message alongside photos from the event, writing, “PROM Promise has always been a special moment of confidence, a space of love, and a sisterhood of support for our seniors.” They ended the caption with a note of gratitude: “Thank you, Savannah James, for pouring into these young women and reminding them of their beauty, inside and out.”
The I Promise School, opened in 2018, focuses on providing opportunities for students who need extra support. It’s grown into a symbol of hope in LeBron’s hometown-and Savannah’s involvement only strengthens that mission.
Outside of prom prep, Savannah continues to lead in the community. She recently teamed up with longtime friend April McDaniel to launch United in Action, a mentorship and empowerment initiative aimed at supporting women and families through education and career-building programs.
In a recent feature by USA Today,Michele Campbell, executive director of the Foundation, praised Savannah’s hands-on approach: “She brings her heart, her wisdom, and her own experiences to create real change.”
On and off the court, the James family continues to make their mark. And thanks to Savannah, this prom season is one these young women will never forget.
