Valentine’s Day has given us some great moments this year, with the most famous couples in sports celebrating their love. And of course, Lionel Messi and Antonela Roccuzzo are no exception.
The Argentine star surprised his wife with romantic gestures on February 14 that, like his exploits on the field, have already become the talk of the world.

Messi has proven that, even at 38, he is still going strong in soccer. However, he also knows how to continue winning his wife’s heart despite the passing of the years.
The Inter Miami captain took advantage of his recovery time after suffering a muscle strain in his left hamstring to celebrate the day of love with his family.
It was his wife who shared on her official Instagram account some of the details and gifts that Leo gave her this Valentine’s Day, including a giant teddy bear, strawberries with chocolates, and a colorful bouquet of flowers.
In addition, Anto and her husband shared a romantic dinner and quality time together, where she chose to wear a brown dress with matching Yves Saint Laurent shoes and handbag, while Lionel paired a black suit with a red and white vertical striped shirt.
After sharing these photos, fans quickly left warm messages for the “10” and his wife: “A great love story,” “This is so cute,” “The couple of the century,” “Because of you, I still believe in love,” “The perfect couple exists,” were some of the comments from Anto and Leo’s followers.
Although the Argentine has shown himself to be a reserved person who shies away from media attention, in an intimate interview with the Argentine streaming channel LuzuTV, the Inter Miami captain revealed that although he is not very expressive with words, he has “his romantic side.” He also explained that there are days when he goes several hours without seeing Antonela, so he tries to leave her little everyday gifts to let her know he is thinking of her: “I am very thoughtful. I usually leave her a little gift, a little something,” he confessed with a nervous laugh, admitting that he finds it difficult to leave her handwritten notes.
Leo and Anto have known each other since they were children. Lucas Scaglia, one of the number 10’s teammates in the Newell’s youth teams, is also Antonela’s cousin, so the bond began when they were just kids.
When Leo started his soccer career, they grew apart, although they kept in touch via email and later formalized their relationship. In November 2012, their first child together, Thiago, was born, followed by Mateo in September 2015. Anto and Leo then decided to get married on June 30, 2017, and almost a year later, in March 2028, the couple welcomed their third child, Ciro.
Meanwhile, Leo and Inter Miami will kick off a new MLS season on February 21, where they will face Los Angeles FC as visitors at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Then, on February 26, they will play a friendly match against Independiente del Valle, which had to be rescheduled due to Messi’s injury.
