Jimmy Butler, a Miami Heat player and one of the NBA’s biggest stars, has asked to be traded from the Miami franchise.

In his trade request, which was confirmed by ESPN, Butler has not imposed on the Heat a list of possible destinations but he does want to join a team where his arrival can make him a contender for high levels in the competition.

Jimmy Butler, who scored nine points in Miami’s 128-115 loss to the Pacers, shared after the game that he has lost the joy of playing for the Heat.

“I want to see myself get my joy back for the game of basketball. Wherever that is, we’ll figure it out soon,” said the 35-year-old forward, who has played in Miami since 2019.
