In an interview for the LUZU TV YouTube channel, the Argentine showed a relaxed side that is rarely seen on and off the soccer field. At one point in the interview, the Argentine was asked about his preference for alcoholic beverages, which he drinks when he has the opportunity to do so to accompany the moment at a party or gathering. The Argentine replied:
“I like wine. And if not the usual, wine and Sprite. So that it hits quickly.”

The Argentine with his comment caused a moment of fun during the interview and on social networks when the small clip went viral. These were flooded with comments from his followers and international sports media, making the Coca-Cola company with a simple comment to raise its share by more than 2% after the publication of the interview.
With this growth in the soft drink company’s shares, many users also compared it to what happened with Cristiano Ronaldo at Euro 2020, when he removed two bottles of Coca-Cola from a table, replacing them with water, causing the company’s shares to fall.
What wine does Messi drink with Sprite?
The Argentine star drinks none other than a wine from his own personal line, which he combines with Sprite, a premium European Syrah, which costs more than 60 euros and is only sold online.
The red wine used by the MLS champion is part of a limited and exclusive series, produced by the Italian-Swiss winery MM Winemaker. The Messi collection is produced with grapes from the Puglia region of southern Italy, but is vinified in Switzerland, where the MM Winemaker winery has won more than 500 international awards.
Lionel Messi, in collaboration with this brand, launched different wines. In 2023, the ‘Diamond’, ‘Titanium’, ‘Platinum’ and ‘GOAT 10’ collections were presented, which quickly sold out due to high demand.
