Micah Parsons and Trevon Diggs snub Dak Prescott from their top QB’s list sparking more controversy

The Dallas Cowboys are known for big personalities and bigger expectations, but tensions are emerging as two of their star defenders, Micah Parsons and Trevon Diggs, openly discussed top quarterbacks without including their own team’s quarterback, Dak Prescott. Prescott, who led the league in touchdown passes last season and secured Dallas a playoff spot, has faced a steep decline in performance this season, and it hasn’t gone unnoticed by his teammates.

After a stellar 2023, Prescott has been struggling to replicate the same success in 2024. In his first seven games, Prescott has put up only 10 touchdowns and eight interceptions, with his accuracy seemingly slipping under pressure. He’s thrown multiple interceptions in each of his last three games, two of which ended in losses for the Cowboys, dropping their record to 3-4. The team’s offense, once among the league’s most threatening, has slumped to the 22nd spot in scoring, leaving fans and teammates concerned. Prescott‘s turnovers have left Dallas’ defense in challenging situations week after week, and it’s taking a toll.

In a recent discussion about standout quarterbacks across the league, Parsons and Diggs began by complimenting rookie sensation Jayden Daniels, whom they believe has already earned Rookie of the Year status. Their conversation quickly expanded to other star quarterbacks, including Lamar Jackson, Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Jared Goff, and Jalen Hurts, with nods to Matthew Stafford and even Sam Darnold. Yet Prescott’s name was conspicuously missing.

The omission could lead to more tension in Dallas

The exclusion raised eyebrows among fans and analysts alike. Prescott recently secured a hefty contract following his All-Pro season, a move the Cowboys hoped would solidify their offense for years. But with this season’s struggles, some are questioning if Dallas invested wisely.

With ten games left in the regular season, Prescott has a chance to turn things around and prove his critics-and possibly his own teammates-wrong. As the Cowboys gear up for their Week 10 showdown against the Falcons, all eyes will be on Prescott to see if he can shake off his mid-season slump and reclaim his standing among the NFL’s top quarterbacks.
