A few days ago, the Colorado Buffaloes held their Pro Day, where Shedeur Sanders was one of the main attractions. As always, he stirred up mixed reactions. Some say he’s a generational talent, while others believe he would be a risky pick for any NFL team. One thing’s for sure – the opinions on Shedeur aren’t going away anytime soon.
Micah Parsons goes off on Darius Slayton, New York Giants wide receiver
Things escalated on social media when a video surfaced showing some of Shedeur Sanders’ throws during Colorado’s Pro Day on April 4. Analyst John Frascella pointed out that the young quarterback appeared to be “double tapping” the ball, which could raise red flags for NFL scouts.
Darius Slayton, wide receiver for the New York Giants, jumped in on social media to defend Shedeur and brought up Tom Brady in comparison, saying:
“Tom Brady, literally the king of quick throws, also tapped the ball before releasing. So no, tapping the ball doesn’t make a difference.”
Micah Parsons, who already had an ongoing debate with Slayton, didn’t hold back. The Dallas Cowboys star defender fired back with this post:
“Comparing the greatest quarterback of all time to Sanders is exactly why I’ll never take a football conversation with you seriously! What are we even doing here!?” said the Penn State product.
Without a doubt, no matter what Shedeur does, he’s going to stay in the spotlight. For now, his NFL future remains uncertain. Despite his talent, his draft stock has started to dip. He’s still expected to be a first-round pick, but unless there’s a trade or a big surprise, it’s unlikely Shedeur Sanders will be selected within the top five.
