New details have surfaced about the surprise birthday celebration NFL star Travis Kelce organized for Taylor Swift last week in Kansas City.
The event, themed around Swift‘s monumental Eras Tour, was a masterclass in thoughtful planning and execution, leaving fans and friends in awe of the creativity and effort Kelce poured into making the night unforgettable.
The party was hosted at a private venue and featured a nod to Swift‘s recently concluded global Eras Tour. Above the DJ booth, giant neon red letters spelled out “End of an Era,” a fitting tribute to the tour’s incredible run.
Kelce enlisted DJ E-V, a close friend and regular at Kelce‘s events, to provide the soundtrack for the night. E-V shared glimpses of the playlist, which included hits from legendary artists like The Rolling Stones, Prince, Tame Impala, and Earth, Wind & Fire. Interestingly, none of Swift’s own songs appeared to make the cut, at least based on what E-V revealed on social media.
Guests danced the night away, with Kelce reportedly giving a heartfelt speech for Swift. Pictures and videos from the celebration quickly spread across social media, showcasing the festive atmosphere and intricate planning that went into the event.
Behind the scenes
To ensure the party was a success, Kelce sought the expertise of Amanda Carlo, a professional party planner. Harry Clark, one of Kelce‘s close friends, shared a photo from the event, tagging Carlo and thanking her for orchestrating the night.
“Mrs. Make it happen Amanda Carlo,” Clark wrote, accompanied by a sunglasses emoji. “Thank you for putting together an amazing event.”
Swift’s friend Ashley Avignone revealed that the pop star was completely unaware of the grand plans, expecting only a quiet dinner with close friends and family.
“When she thought she was going to a small, quiet dinner but it was actually a giant surprise party with her friends and family, props included,” Avignone wrote on Instagram.
Brittany Mahomes, wife of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, was among the first guests to share photos from the party.
Her snaps revealed guests wearing homemade friendship bracelets, a nod to a popular fan tradition at Swift‘s concerts.
Attendees also dressed in costumes inspired by Swift‘s various musical eras, further emphasizing the Eras Tour theme.
