Beyonce could be fined by the NFL for making a gun hand gesture at the Christmas Day half-time performance as the Houston Texans took on the Baltimore Ravens at the NRG Stadium on Wednesday.
The 43-year-old took to the stage in a white bodysuit with a cowboy hat and sang some of her hit tracks with Post Malone and Shaboozey later appearing on stage too, before the Grammy-winning artist kicked up controversy.
The moment came when she was lifted up by a platform after finishing Texas Hold ‘Em, where she made a finger-gun gesture whilst the words “bang” dropped beneath the platform on a banner, leaving fans upset as they took to social media to complain.
One user wrote via X.com, formerly Twitter, “Is the @NFL going to fine @Beyonce for finger guns?!”
Whilst a second added, “I was thinking the same thing!! How many players were fined for that?”
And a third commented, “Where is the flag on Beyonc for the finger guns?!?!”
Finger-gun gestures are strictly forbidden by the NFL and offending players can find themselves hit with a 15-yard penalty as Roger Goodell looks to create a family and child friendly environment.
Jay-Z skips Beyonce show in Texas
Beyonce took to the stage without the support of her controversial husband in the stands, after Jay-Z was accused of raping a 13-year-old girl at one of Sean Combs’ parties all the way back in 2000.
Jay-Z, who is really called Shawn Carter, has denied the allegations and has hit out at the lawsuit as a blackmail attempt whilst highlighting what he believes are a series of inconsistencies within the filing.
The couple’s eldest daughter, Blue Ivy, was at the NRG Stadium on December 25 and the 12-year-old later came out to dance with her mother before Lamar Jackson spurred the Ravens on to a 31-2 victory, passing for two touchdowns on just 15 attempts as well as rushing for one too.
