Since its inception in 1967, the Super Bowl has become the most important sporting event in the United States and one of the most watched worldwide. Over more than five decades, several franchises have built dynasties that have left their mark on the NFL, driven by legendary figures such as Tom Brady, Eli Manning and Patrick Mahomes.

These teams not only won championships, they also defined playing styles and entire eras within the league. Therefore, talking about Super Bowl wins is also talking about the evolution of professional football.

The most successful Super Bowl franchises

At the top of the list are two historic teams that share the championship record.

The New England Patriots and the Pittsburgh Steelers lead the table with six Super Bowls each.

The Patriots dominated the modern era under the leadership of Tom Brady, while the Steelers built their legacy with solid teams and memorable defenses in different decades.

Close behind are two iconic NFL franchises: the San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys, with five titles each. Both teams were dominant in the 1980s and 1990s, establishing themselves as benchmarks for success and popularity.

One step down are franchises that have remained competitive over time: Kansas City Chiefs, Green Bay Packers and New York Giants all with four titles.

With three championships, there are teams such as the Denver Broncos, Raiders and Washington, while several franchises have managed to lift the Lombardi twice, including the Dolphins, Rams, Colts and Ravens. Others, such as the Seahawks, Bears, Jets and Saints, have one title to their name.
