The NFL Honors ceremony, which honors the best of the professional football season in the United States, will take place on Thursday, February 6, and its main category is the recognition of the Most Valuable Player (MVP), but there are also awards for the Coach of the Year, offensive and defensive players, among others.
Each year, the winner of the AP NFL MVP award is recognized for their outstanding on-field performance, and their name is etched into the league’s history, marked by talent and achievement. In 2024, the winner was Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson, who is looking to repeat as he competes among the nominees with Josh Allen, Saquon Barkley, Joe Burrow and Jared Goff.

Does the NFL MVP receive money for the award?
The MVP award is presented by the Associated Press and the trophy has been awarded to such legendary players as Tom Brady and Peyton Manning, as well as Patrick Mahomes, who is already at the same table, although he is set to dominate the NFL for many years to come.
The award is presented annually to the player who has performed the best, as voted on by 50 sports journalists and commentators who cover the NFL.
The MVP winner receives a silver trophy named after legendary NFL commissioner Pete Rozelle, and the recognition does not carry a cash payment, but the league awards a bonus of $500,000, plus players have incentives in their contracts for winning individual awards.
