Taylor Swift’s popularity is showing no signs of diminishing. The singer is one of the biggest stars in the world, and her romance with Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce has seen her add another dimension to her notoriety.

While many have embraced Swift and welcomed her to the sports world, not everyone is a fan of the musician.

“I feel like she’s getting unnecessary coverage. There was the whole NFL season opening video on Twitter and she was featured five times and our quarterback was featured none. That’s not even right. She is not the NFL,” an NFL player, on condition of anonymity, told The Athletic.

The anonymous player was one of five players to call Swift’s influence “negative”, with reports coming out that there is some tension between some NFL players and the pop star.

Overall 102 players were asked about Swift, while 74 were positive and 23 in the middle.

Most agreed she has brought more attention to the league, which has been good for business, though some believe there has been some excessive coverage.

“I’ll jam to some Taylor Swift, but I don’t give a s- if she’s at the game or not,” added another.

Swift hasn’t attended recent games

The report comes amidst suggestions that Swift hasn’t attended recent Chiefs games due to the negative comments from some NFL players.

While not everyone believes in that theory, it hasn’t stopped the Chiefs from continuing their success.

Kelce and his teammates remain undefeated, defeating the Los Angeles Chargers 17-10 on Sunday to improve their record to 4-0 so far.
