Excitement for the NFL game in Madrid
Adam Thielen expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “I hope our team goes. That would be great.” Jalen Pitre echoed the sentiment, stating, “It’s really cool to be able to go into other countries and show them what we do. It’s going to be really exciting.”
Having already played overseas four times, Terron Armstead emphasized how special these opportunities are for players and the league. “Every time I go, I absolutely love it. It’s a great opportunity to showcase how great this game is and grow the fanbase.”
A nod to soccer’s biggest names
While American football is their passion, some NFL stars have an appreciation for soccer. When asked about the sport, Jalen Pitre admitted, “I like the obvious ones-Messi, Ronaldo, Neymar-but I wouldn’t say I’m a fan at all.” However, he recognized Cristiano Ronaldo’s greatness, stating, “He’s definitely one of the best.”
For Adam Thielen, soccer became more interesting after meeting his wife, who played the sport. “I got a little more into it when I met her,” he shared. He also recalled his experience attending an Arsenal game in London, describing it as “a pretty cool experience.”
Madrid: A city to remember
Terron Armstead, who has previously visited Spain, spoke highly of Madrid, calling it “maybe the best place I’ve ever traveled internationally.” He praised the city’s energy, culture, and, of course, its food. “Some paella, I ate it almost every day!” he confessed.
With the NFL set to touch down in Madrid, these players are eager to take the field and experience the passion of Spanish fans. As Armstead summed up, “Hopefully, we can continue to grow the game overseas and show how great this sport really is.”
