The NFL is already viewing Taylor Swift as an option for the 2026 Super Bowl halftime show, having upset and disappointed many fans with Kendrick Lamar‘s performance that was centered around his beef with Drake.
Next year’s Super Bowl is going to take place at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara and the NFL knows that it needs to bounce back after the majority of fans inside the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans did not enjoy Kendrick‘s show.
Dancing queen! Serena Williams steals the show from Kendrick Lamar ‘ s halftime show
“Taylor is the goal we want her to be doing the SB halftime show it has been something we should have done before,” the source told The U.S. Sun.
“It would be historical and we would make the best numbers ever and get someone that everyone loves and that doesn’t create any controversy.”
A new direction for the halftime show
The main criticizm of having Kendrick as the performer was that people who actually pay to go and watch the Super Bowl in person do not know his music, so there is less of an atmosphere being created.
“We heard about some fans request for Carrie Underwood, but I really don’t think that it would happen for her anytime soon,” continued the insider.
“That is not a target for a Super Bowl halftime show, and we want an international superstar, someone that the whole world knows and that for sure would make an unbelievable show.
“That person is Taylor Swift. We will do everything to make it happen next year.”
Of course, with Swift currently in a serious relationship with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, a lot of NFL fans already have a certain opinion of her.
A year can be a long time, but Swift was booed when she appeared on the big screen in New Orleans.
