Nintendo has finally unveiled the highly anticipated Switch 2, the follow-up to its massively successful Switch console.
In the new official trailing announcing the console, Nintendo showcased the console’s design and features but kept key details under wraps, including the price, release date, and launch games. The video did include some hints, such as a possible new Mario Kart game and news of an upcoming Nintendo Direct event on April 2, 2025.
What We Know So Far (Based off the trailer)
- The Switch 2 has a similar design to the original Switch but is slightly larger.
- The Joy-Cons attach with magnets and can also function as a mouse.
- It will support games from the original Switch, confirmed by Nintendo.
The Switch 2 will mark the end of the original Switch’s nearly 10-year run. Launched in March 2017, the original Switch became the third best-selling console of all time, after the Nintendo DS and PlayStation 2. Rumors about the Switch 2 had been circulating for years, with leaks about its features and accessory designs.
