It was supposed to be a routine postgame interview. But when you’re covering a team like the Oklahoma City Thunder, one that’s not only clicking on the court but clearly having a blast off it too, nothing is ever just routine.

After a strong performance against the Charlotte Hornets, Isaiah Joe took the mic for a courtside interview with Thunder reporter and digital editor Nick Gallo. But what started as a standard Q&A quickly turned into something much more entertaining… especially for those watching from home.

While Joe answered the questions with his usual calm, something unusual was happening at the same time. Slowly but surely, OKC players began surrounding Gallo. And not just to listen in, these guys had a plan.

One by one, they began dressing Nick Gallo in full Thunder gear. A hoodie was slipped over his shoulders and just when it seemed like the joke had run its course, someone threw a towel around his neck like he’d just walked off the floor with a 30-point triple-double. Through it all, Gallo stood tall, smiling, shaking his head in disbelief but never breaking the flow of the interview. That’s how comfortable this crew is with each other.

The whole thing had the team, Gallo, and viewers cracking up. And it wasn’t forced. You could tell there’s a real bond between the players and the media team built on respect, humor, and plenty of shared time behind the scenes. Gallo didn’t flinch, and the players wrapped it up quickly, knowing the bit had landed.

All this came in the immediate aftermath of the Thunder’s 141-106 win over Charlotte, with Isaiah Joe contributing 12 points off the bench, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander leading the attack with 30, and Chet Holmgren adding 14 points and five rebounds. But ask any Thunder fan what they remember most about the night, and it probably wasn’t just the score. It was the moment their team proved once again that they’re having just as much fun as we are watching them.
