Pat McAfee gets Seth Rollins thrown out of Colts-Bears game for unforgivable gesture on Jumbotron

After Caitlin Clark and Peyton Manning, Pat McAfee is probably at the top of the list of sports figures you should never mess with in Indianapolis. WWE star Seth Rollins learned that lesson the hard way when he took a public heel turn at Lucas Oil Stadium, and a Colts legend made him pay the price.

Watch Seth Rollins get thrown out of NFL game

The whole stadium was watching when Rollins made an unforgivable gesture on the Jumbotron to McAfee, who was right next to him in the suite. Before he knew it, Rollins had been launched onto the field and dragged out of the game by security.

While on the screen, the wrestler pulled off a Colts jersey to reveal what he was really wearing underneath: a jersey of Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams.

Rollins picked the wrong guys to mess with, as McAfee enlisted his old Colts teammate T.Y. Hilton, another crowd favorite in Indianapolis, to hurl Rollins out of the suite and get carried away by security.

Caleb Williams’ struggles continue

Despite his animated exit while being escorted out, McAfee may have done him a favor: he didn’t have to see Williams and the Bears go out with a 21-16 defeat.

The 2024 No. 1 NFL draft pick threw his first NFL touchdown, but also turned the ball over three times, including two interceptions and one fumble.

Jonathan Taylor’s three touchdowns lifted Indianapolis to the win despite poor play from their own young QB, Anthony Richardson (10-for-20 passing, 162 yards, 0 touchdowns, 2 interceptions).

Will Seth Rollins be at Royal Rumble?

Of course, McAfee also moonlights as a commentator for WWE in addition to his various roles on ESPN. The spectacle with Rollins may have all been a grand promo for the next Royal Rumble, which is scheduled to take place in Lucas Oil Stadium on February 1, 2025.

After suffering a knee injury early in 2024, Rollins has taken a back seat in the major WWE events. Perhaps this signals his return to the main spotlight, whether it comes in 2024 or beyond. No matter what, it was a welcome dose of entertainment as Williams and Richardson failed to excite the crowd in Indy.
