Patrick Mahomes‘ mother recalls missing the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback’s grandmother as Randi Mahomes finds herself struggling with the passage of time whilst caring for her father, who is back in the hospital with ill health.

The 48-year-old mom of the NFL player has been caring for Randy Martin throughout 2024 and into 2025 as he finds himself battling sickness, recently being hospitalized between New Years’ Eve and the Chiefs’ Week 18 game with the Denver Broncos.

And as she finds herself confronted with the mortality of one of her parents, she is left missing her own mother as she gave an emotional message via Instagram Stories by telling her fans what kind of woman Debbie Martin was.

“I miss my Mom’s voice,” Randi posted to Instagram of her mom, who died in April 2023 aged 72. “I miss her laugh. I miss her calling to check in with me, I miss her being around for the holidays. Love and miss you mama.”

In August 2023, on what would have been her 73rd birthday, Randi wrote, “I love you and miss you so very much … still doesn’t feel real you are gone but I know you are in a much better place.”

Randi is deeply involved with her family and regularly can be found supporting her children and those close to her such as her dad, so the period she is going through at the moment is no doubt taxing as she called for prayers for her father.

It’s unknown what Martin is struggling with but Randi says he isn’t doing well and she’s spending more and more time with him. It’s unknown if Mahomes has gone to visit, although with the Chiefs on an NFL bye week he may have had the time to do so.

Martin was previously in hospital on September 13 but was discharged ahead of the Thanksgiving and Christmas festive season but has since retuned to be placed under medical supervision. Randi Mahomes recently spent a night with her dad on January 3.
