Shedeur Sanders is one of the names to look out for at the upcoming NFL Draft, with the Colorado Buffaloes star one of several players who could be the first overall pick.
With several franchises looking to turn their fortunes around, the son of Deion Sanders is an exciting prospect given what he showed while in college.
One team that has regularly been linked with Sanders is the Las Vegas Raiders, and Patrick Mahomes’ trainer, Bobby Stroupe, added to that feeling with a tweet on Friday.
“I’m going to bet on Sanders ending up a Raider,” he wrote.
The Raiders play in the same division as the Chiefs, and after a disappointing campaign that saw them finish with a 4-13 record, someone with Sanders’ skillset would certainly help the struggling franchise.
Sanders, along with Cam Ward, are the two top quarterback prospects heading into the draft, but the Raiders will need some help if they want to land the Colorado man.
The Raiders currently hold the sixth overall pick, and with teams like the Tennessee Titans and New York Giants drafting ahead of them and needing a quarterback, the chips will have to fall in place if Las Vegas are to get Sanders.
Sanders ready to make his mark in the NFL
Shedeur and his father Deion put the Colorado Buffaloes back on the map after decades of struggles, and it appears the quarterback is ready to make a similar impact in the NFL.
While speaking with reporters on Friday at the NFL Scouting Combine, Sanders told franchises interested in him that they should only draft him if they want a culture change.
“If you’re not trying to change the franchise or culture, don’t get me,” said Sanders.
“You should know history repeats itself over and over and over. And I’ve done it over and over and over. So it should be no question why an NFL franchise should pick me.”
Before joining Colorado, Shedeur played two seasons with the Jackson State Tigers and went 23-3 as a starter.
After going 4-7 in his first season in Boulder, Sanders led Colorado to a 9-4 record while throwing for 4,134 yards, 37 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
