Making it onto an NFL team is a dream for many kids. Once you get there, you’ve made it-you become a hero to many, a role model. But being there can also be cruel. If you don’t deliver results right away, your career can be short-lived, and the consequences can be serious.
A clear example is Kadarius Toney, an electrifying prospect who never managed to break through in the NFL. Despite his great talent and flashes of brilliance-he even won a Super Bowl playing a key role for the Kansas City Chiefs-fans might still feel like they never got to see the full potential of the Florida Gators product.

Nowadays, Toney has mentioned on his social media that he’s retiring from the NFL. So many off-field issues and his passion for rap have brought an end to what could have been a brilliant career.
Toney and his NFL Career
In the 2021 NFL Draft, the New York Giants selected Kadarius Toney in the first round, 20th overall. He immediately impressed with his ability to create explosive plays. He was seen as someone who could revolutionize the wide receiver position in an offense that badly needed a spark.
As a rookie, he had a standout moment in a game against the Dallas Cowboys, racking up 189 total yards, and it seemed like he was on his way to becoming one of the NFL’s favorite new stars. But injuries severely limited his time on the field.
In 2022, Toney was traded to the Kansas City Chiefs, where he once again showed flashes of his talent. His big moment came in Super Bowl LVII, where he scored a touchdown and had the longest punt return in Super Bowl history. He was even in the MVP conversation.
However, in the following season, key drops, poorly run routes, and more injuries cast doubt on his place in the team. His opportunities dwindled, and now his future in the NFL is uncertain.
Kadarius Toney may have a future in Rap
Toney has a strong passion for rap and goes by the stage name Yung Joka. He started rapping in elementary school, freestyling to entertain his classmates, and when he got to the University of Florida, he began taking music more seriously-recording videos, performing live, and posting his work on social media.
Now, Toney will be focusing on his artistic career.
