Following a recent break-in, Patrick Mahomes has ramped up security around his Missouri estate to protect against future incidents. The NFL star reportedly took swift action to strengthen safety protocols after his Belton property was targeted on October 6.
According to TMZ, Mahomes‘ gated community also responded with added security measures to help ensure peace of mind for residents.
While specific details on the burglary remain limited, officials say the incident took place around midnight, two days before the Chiefs‘ game against the Saints.
Though Mahomes briefly commented on the unsettling experience, he refrained from discussing the investigation further.
“Obviously, it’s frustrating. It’s disappointing, but I can’t get into too many details because the investigation is still ongoing,” he said.
“Obviously, something that you don’t want to have happen to really anybody, but obviously yourself.”
Kelce a victim of theft too
The situation escalated when a separate break-in occurred shortly afterward at teammate Travis Kelce’s Kansas home, prompting the FBI to join local authorities in investigating both incidents. Kelce reportedly lost about $20,000 in cash during the robbery but has not yet publicly addressed the matter.
“That was a massive surprise for all of them, as they really never thought it would happen to them,” an insider told The U.S. Sun.
“That was a very, very frustrating moment, and both Kelce and Mahomes got really mad it happened, and that intruders got into their properties that they consider their ‘safe-haven’ and ‘safe place’ as they are always under the spotlights and always traveling.
“The Mahomes got really angry as Brittany felt really bad that people got into their privacy, into their private spaces, and felt really bad about it for a bit.
“That really bothered them a lot, especially her, as she always wants her safe space and her family and kids to be in the safest places 24/7, and home is their sanctuary in the middle of the super active life they have.”
