The Kansas City Chiefs haven’t had the start to the season they dreamed of. With a 6-6 record, they will face the Houston Texans (7-5) at home this Sunday, December 7, looking for a win that will give them some breathing room.
This tense situation has caused some fans to direct their criticism toward the team and Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, but his wife took care of them.

In his recent appearance on “Up & Adams” with Kay Adams, Houston Rockets star forward Kevin Durant did not hesitate to express his support for the 30-year-old quarterback after critics questioned his talent and legacy given the delicate situation they are going through this season.
“That makes no sense at all. If anybody is questioning Pat Mahomes’ legacy from a one-off year, he can miss the playoffs for the rest of his career – I don’t give a damn. This man is Patrick Mahomes,” Durant said.
In addition, he defended not only the Chiefs’ QB, but also the team’s tight end and defensive tackle, who were just as criticized as Pat: “How many championships does he have? Three? Come on now. Are we really going to question Pat Mahomes, Chris Jones, Travis Kelce? He’s still an all-time great, potentially the greatest of all time,” Kevin added.
This statement was shared by the official Up & Adams Instagram account, where not only did fans leave comments agreeing with the NBA star’s words, but Patrick’s wife also commented and silenced the critics: “Let them know,” she wrote along with applause emojis.
Fans also left comments highlighting Durant’s gesture: “Greatness recognizes greatness,” said one. “This! Finally someone speaking sense!” commented another fan. “Amen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” wrote a third user.
Meanwhile, the Chiefs will play a decisive game against the Texans, especially with the defense led by Will Anderson Jr. and Danielle Hunter, so Mahomes will have to strategically lead the Kansas City offense.
To date, Mahomes has 3,238 passing yards, 22 touchdown passes, and 7 interceptions. He has completed 285 of 441 passes, for a completion rate of 64.6%.
