Pixel Watch 3 Introduces AI-Driven Features for Better Health and Convenience

Google’s latest Pixel Watch 3 is set to revolutionize the wearable tech industry with a suite of new AI-driven features aimed at enhancing user health and convenience, according to blog.google.

Automated Sleep Detection and Bedtime Mode

The Pixel Watch 3 utilizes machine learning to automatically detect when the user is asleep and activate Bedtime Mode. This feature conserves battery by turning off notifications and the always-on display, providing an undisturbed sleep environment. The same technology also detects when the user wakes up, deactivating Bedtime Mode seamlessly.

Enhanced Running Metrics

With the introduction of the Pixel Watch 3, Google is offering its most accurate heart rate tracking for running enthusiasts. The device employs advanced motion sensing combined with machine learning to analyze running form, providing comprehensive metrics such as step cadence, stride length and height, and ground contact time. Additionally, Fitbit Premium users can benefit from AI-powered daily run recommendations, tailored to their recovery, previous runs, and personal goals.

Call Management from the Wrist

Previously available on Pixel phones, Call Assist technology has now been integrated into the Pixel Watch 3. This AI feature screens spam calls and can wait on hold on behalf of the user, offering a convenient way to manage calls directly from the wrist.

Loss of Pulse Detection

One of the most significant advancements in the Pixel Watch 3 is the introduction of Loss of Pulse Detection. This groundbreaking feature uses an AI-based algorithm to monitor pulse and movement signals, identifying when the heart stops beating. In such critical health emergencies, the watch can automatically place a call to emergency services and share an automated message with the user’s location and vital context. This feature is expected to be available in various European countries starting in September.

Overall, the Pixel Watch 3’s new features highlight Google’s commitment to leveraging AI to improve user health and convenience, setting a new standard in the wearable tech market.
