Puka Nacua, NFL star, will pay tribute to his NCAA career and his family

The wide receiver for the Los Angeles Rams, Puka Nacua, has undoubtedly become an NFL star and, especially, a fan favorite, among both experts and Fantasy football enthusiasts, after his impact on the league has been simply spectacular.

Nacua will stop wearing number 17 and switch to number 12, the number he wore at the University of Washington and BYU, where he had great moments in NCAA football. Also, members of his family have worn that jersey.

What a feast! Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua shows the insane amount of protein he gets regularly

“Kind of along the lines of wearing number 12, I’ve had the blessing of being able to watch my siblings compete,” Nacua told Rams.com when asked how his relationship with his family has shaped him into the athlete he is now. “Watched my brothers play at the highest level in football, and always be there to support me. Whenever I looked in the stands, I knew I could find one of my family members there, whether it was one of my brothers or my mom being at every game possible. I know when I put on that number 12, it’s a piece of armor as well that’s representing my family that is always protecting me.”

This is how Puka has decided to change his number in his young and so far successful career in the NFL, where he has set some records, especially in his rookie season when, with 105 receptions, he set a new rookie record for a single season. With 1,486 receiving yards, he broke the mark of 1,473 yards set by Bill Groman in 1960.

The new number 17 for the Rams

Los Angeles signed wide receiver Davante Adams, who will continue to wear the number 17 on his jersey, a number that has been iconic throughout his great NFL career.

Adams has worn number 17 since his time with the Green Bay Packers, Las Vegas Raiders, and New York Jets. The Fresno State alum signed with the Rams for two years and $46 million.
