After all the buzz in Las Vegas, it was pretty much a given that at his Friday press conference, everyone was going to grill Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers about the possibility of Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams joining the Jets.
Word on the street is that Adams wants out of the Raiders, and there’s been talk that he’s eyeing a reunion with Rodgers in New York. Adams even spilled the beans in an interview over the summer, saying that Rodgers has been pushing for them to play together again. And Rodgers himself has been pretty vocal about wanting to team up with Adams once more. But when asked about it on Friday, he played it cool and didn’t give away too much.
“I don’t know how much I can say about it because of tampering, but I still have a close friendship with him,” Rodgers said. “We spend time in the offseason together. He’s a great guy and a great player. The rest of that is out of my hands.”
Seems like Rodgers is keeping things hush-hush for now, but who knows what he might say when he’s not in front of the cameras. As for the Jets, well, they don’t have Adams just yet, so Rodgers has got his work cut out for him this Sunday when they take on the Vikings.
What’s next for the Jets?
It’s no secret that Rodgers and Adams have a tight bond, both on and off the field. They’ve got chemistry, and it’s clear that they make a great team. But for now, it looks like Rodgers is focused on the game at hand and the players he’s got on his side.
All this talk about Adams possibly joining the Jets is definitely exciting for fans, but as Rodgers pointed out, there’s only so much he can say without getting himself into hot water with the league. It’s a delicate situation, and it seems like he’s treading carefully.
One thing’s for sure, though – if Adams does end up making the move to the Jets, it’s going to be a game-changer. Rodgers and Adams together again? That’s a dream come true for a lot of fans out there.
For now, though, it’s all about focusing on the present. The upcoming game against the Vikings is top priority for Rodgers and the Jets. Who knows what the future holds, but for now, they’ve got a game to win.
