Romeo Beckham, son of David and Victoria Beckham, has made a drastic decision about his professional future. The former Brentford player was offered a new contract in June to remain in their reserve team, something that has not convinced the player and so he has taken the decision to leave the Premier League to focus on fashion, according to The Sun.
It is a decision that brings him closer to his mother, as it seems that Romeo, 21, hopes to sign a deal with the Parisian fashion house Safe Management to become a model. Romeo is no stranger to the fashion world, having starred in a Burberry campaign when he was just two years old and is regularly seen showing off his sense of style at A-list events. This is not the first time Romeo has hung up his boots. He already stepped away from soccer after being released by Arsenal in 2015 and turned his attention to a career in tennis.
His time as a football player
Romeo Beckham, one of David Beckham‘s sons, landed last year in Europe, at Brentford, after taking his first steps in the youth academy of Inter Miami.
“I’m very proud and very happy to be here. I came here at first to keep fit during my league break. Then came the opportunity to come on loan here and I’ve never been so excited,” he said at his introduction as a Brentford player. Romeo previously played for Arsenal in 2015 and signed in 2021 for his father David’s MLS franchise, Inter Miami. Romeo would go on to play 26 games for the club’s reserve team, scoring two goals and collecting 10 assists in the MLS Next Pro league during his final season in the U.S. before joining Brentford B on loan in January 2023.
