In an unexpected twist to the ongoing public scrutiny surrounding newly unsealed documents from the Jeffrey Epstein investigation, New York Giants quarterback Russell Wilson has taken to social media to make one thing abundantly clear: he rejects any implication of improper ties to the disgraced financier.
The U.S. Department of Justice recently released millions of pages of material under the Epstein Files Transparency Act, a sprawling body of emails, images, and correspondence connected to Epstein‘s network.
Among the vast collection, a 2019 email chain mentioning Wilson‘s interest in purchasing a private jet tied to Epstein‘s assets began circulating widely online, prompting speculation and confusion among sports fans and casual observers alike.

In response, Wilson took to X early Monday night, strongly denying both knowledge of the plane’s ownership and any personal connection to Epstein.
“NOPE!!! ABSOLUTELY NOT! Not TODAY satan!” he wrote on X.
The email in question dates back to January 27, 2019, when Wilson was still the starting quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks and was in the midst of negotiating a contract extension.
In the thread, a broker appears to communicate on behalf of Wilson regarding a Gulfstream GIV jet, allegedly exploring terms such as an option-to-buy structure with a $500,000 upfront payment and a 90-day window, as well as a base price in the $2.7 million range.
Importantly, the documents do not indicate Wilson ever communicated directly with Epstein or completed a sale, and there’s no allegation of criminal behavior.
The reference is contained in a planning email, business chatter about an aircraft purchase where Epstein happens to be on the other end of a brokered chain, not evidence of wrongdoing.
Wilson‘s denial underscores that distinction and comes as the quarterback seeks to steer the narrative back toward his career and reputation.
The plane that put Wilson back in the headlines
The renewed public focus on Russell Wilson comes at a delicate moment in his professional arc.
After a storied tenure with the Seattle Seahawks and a high-profile stint with the Denver Broncos, Wilson signed with the New York Giants ahead of the 2025 season, where fans and analysts have closely scrutinized his performance.
The resurfacing of a nearly seven-year-old email thread involving Epstein‘s former assets added a layer of noise that Wilson clearly wants to dispel.
The Epstein files release has sparked widespread interest and controversy, with the DOJ making over 3 million pages of documents, 2,000 videos, and 180,000 images public as part of ongoing transparency efforts.
While these disclosures have included communications involving high-profile figures outside of professional sports, experts have emphasized that mere appearance in the files does not equate to criminal conduct or suggest misconduct.
